After completing her fellowship training, she returned to Charlotte in 2019, eager to contribute to the community in her native Rock Hill, SC.

Dr. Chambers was drawn to HopeWay’s collaborative environment, strong community reputation for quality treatment, and commitment to expanding services for adolescents and teens.

Leadership Within the Mental Health Field

Dr. Chambers has extensive experience in various settings including inpatient, Residential Treatment Centers/Partial Hospitalization Programs/Intensive Outpatient Programs (RTC/PHP/IOP), consult-liaison hospital roles, and outpatient settings.

She has held significant leadership roles, including serving as the Medical Director of Catawba Community Mental Health Center through the South Carolina Department of Mental Health.

She has been an active research investigator for investigational treatments in psychiatry, and played a key role in establishing a day treatment program within the school system, highlighting her proactive involvement in improving psychiatric care.

Working With Dr. Chambers

Dr. Chambers values the RTC/PHP/IOP settings for the opportunity they provide to spend substantial time with patients. Collaborating closely with the treatment team, she focuses on developing robust case conceptualizations and crafting effective, individualized treatment plans tailored to meet each client’s unique needs.

Outside her professional endeavors, Dr. Chambers is a devoted mother and has had two children, one of which unfortunately passed due to neurodegenerative disease a few days before his tenth birthday. She has a vibrant daughter, two loving dogs—a sheepadoodle and a mini-Australian labradoodle—and enjoys traveling, music, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Her passion for patient care was strongly influenced by her years as a parent of a child with extensive special needs, with a goal of providing treatment that is compassionate, thorough, and high-quality.
