Yazmin Risano, LCSWA

Yazmin serves as an Admissions Specialist after joining the HopeWay team as a clinical intern. In her role, she is responsible for completing clinical screenings, working as a part of an interdisciplinary team and building therapeutic rapport with incoming clients. Prior to HopeWay, Yazmin interned with Veterans Bridge Home helping connect Veterans to community resources and as a Veterans Treatment Court Intern providing case management for Veterans involved in the justice system due to mental health disorders, trauma, and substance use.

Yazmin served as an Active Duty Medic in the United States Army where she provided emergency medical treatment, limited primary care, and health protection and evacuation from a point of injury or illness. She then received her Master’s of Social Work from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Outside of work, Yazmin enjoys nature walks, reading and traveling.
