The Panel Will Include:
Moderator - Kevin Marra, MD, Director of Medical Services
Dr. Kevin Marra is a board-certified psychiatrist who has served as HopeWay’s Director of Medical Services since opening in 2016. Dr. Marra oversees the medical team, including the psychiatrists, primary care providers and nurses. Dr. Marra’s true passion is working with clients and families, and he specializes in treating young adults struggling with mood disorders and individuals diagnosed with personality disorders. Through a partnership with Novant, in 2022, Dr. Marra started seeing clients at the Michael Jordan Clinic and Hope Community Clinic to bring vital psychiatric services to patients without insurance.
Panelist - Craig Young, LMFT
As a trained professional with a Master of Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy, Craig has worked for 25 years as a school-based therapist and in the mental health field. He has also been a supervisor of the Orange County, CA Wraparound Treatment Program. Craig currently runs Young Consulting Group and is a sought-after public speaker, intellectual, and educator. One of Craig’s proudest accomplishments is having coached youth sports for over 10 years. His biggest accomplishment, next to marrying his amazing wife, is raising a Heisman Trophy-winning Quarterback.
Panelist - Cameron Maxwell, former HopeWay client
Cameron Maxwell is a Charlotte native who served nearly seven years in the U.S. Army Infantry, including two years in Afghanistan as an infantryman. After completing his military service, he built a career in real estate but later made the courageous decision to prioritize his health by seeking mental health treatment at HopeWay for PTSD. Now, Cameron is pursuing a degree in Human Services, channeling his experiences into a new path of helping others. He shares his life in Charlotte with his wife, Brittany, and their two children, who have been an invaluable support system throughout his journey of growth and healing.
Panelist - Austin Sowell, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, Nurse Practitioner - Eating Disorders
Austin, a Knoxville, TN native, played football at Elon University, earning a BS in Chemistry before working for NASCAR’s pit crew. His experiences as an athlete sparked a passion for physiology and nutrition. Transitioning to healthcare, he earned nursing and Psychiatric–Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degrees, specializing in psychiatry, eating disorders, and sports psychiatry. As a Nurse Practitioner in our outpatient practice, HopeWay Psychiatry & Associates, and in our Teen & Young Adult Eating Disorder Programs, Austin is dedicated to helping clients optimize their health by combining his medical training with his personal interests.

Ace the Stigma was founded in 2023 in memory of Chuck Reiney who died by suicide at the age of 53. He was a husband, father, avid tennis player, and former president of the Olde Providence Tennis Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The mission of Ace the Stigma is to defeat the stigma surrounding mental health by raising funds, increasing awareness, and supporting individuals struggling with mental illness.
